During the 1980s farm crisis, the AFR Congressional Action Legislative Fund was created to fund travel expenses to Washington, D.C., to educate Congress and federal agencies about the issues impacting rurarl communities and farm families. AFR CALF is still used to participate in issue campaigns and litigation efforts that impact farmers, ranchers or agriculture in general.
