GROVE—The Delaware County American Farmers & Ranchers (AFR) Cooperative organization recently donated $2,000 to agricultural education efforts in Delaware County. Through the total amount donated, $500 was given to the Delaware County OSU Extension Office and $300 each was given to the Grove, Jay, Colcord, Kansas and Oaks FFA chapters.

“Delaware County AFR is pleased to contribute to the advancement of agriculture programs in our county,” said Mitzi Lane, secretary of Delaware County AFR. “We are honored to play even a small part in the education of Delaware County agriculture students as they develop into future leaders for our communities.”

A major mission of county AFR organizations across Oklahoma is to give back to the communities they serve. Delaware County AFR also supports area sports teams and premium livestock auctions and offers scholarships for students to attend college or vocational school, a poster contest and other youth events. Delaware County AFR is supported by the Kilburn Agency in West Siloam Springs, Grand Insurance in Gentry, Ark., and Teel-Lane Insurance Agency with locations in Grove and Jay.
